This is a draft prepared for your review. Have a qualified lawyer confirm and adjust the wording before you rely on it. Items marked [placeholder] need your input.

1. Who we are

MaxHP (“we”, “us”) operates an automotive build database at [your domain] where users document and share modified and enthusiast cars. To contact us, email contact.maxhp@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: when you create an account we store your email address and a hashed password. New accounts are confirmed automatically, so no email verification link is required.
  • Subscriber emails: when you join the newsletter or enter your email to unlock a build’s full parts list, we store your email, whether you gave marketing consent, the source of the sign-up, and the build it came from (if any).
  • Build content: anything you submit for a build — vehicle specs, modifications, parts, affiliate URLs, photos and any owner contact details you choose to provide.
  • Usage data: basic analytics about how the site is used, such as pages visited and approximate location, collected through platform tooling.

3. How we use your data

  • To create and manage your account and the builds you submit.
  • To send you build-related emails when you unlock a list, and marketing emails only if you gave consent.
  • To display user-generated builds publicly, including on pages linked to YouTube features.
  • To review, moderate and feature submitted builds.

4. Photos

Photos you upload are stored in private storage and served to visitors through a cached image proxy so they can be displayed on build pages. They are not made publicly downloadable from storage directly.

5. Cookies & local storage

We use a cookie and, where cookies are blocked, a local storage entry called maxhp_unlock to remember that you’ve unlocked a build’s full parts list. This stores a signed token, not your raw email. Authentication also uses cookies to keep you signed in.

6. Affiliate links

Some links to third-party retailers are affiliate links. Those retailers may set their own cookies or tracking when you click through. Please review the retailer’s privacy policy. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

7. Sharing your data

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the hosting, database and email infrastructure providers that operate the site, and as required by law. Build content you submit is published publicly per the Terms of Service.

8. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing contact.maxhp@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law [specify jurisdiction if applicable].

9. Retention

We keep account and subscriber data for as long as your account or subscription is active, and build content for as long as the build is published. You can request deletion at any time.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
